If you have a family history of cancer and are concerned about your future risk, or if you have a particular interest in your genetic profile, your Preventicum Doctor will discuss referring you to our Consultant Clinical Geneticist, Dr Anju Kulkarni. In an initial online consultation, you will discuss your family and personal medical history in great detail to determine if, and what type of, genetic testing is appropriate.
If Dr Kulkarni determines that genetic testing is suitable, you will discuss which tests are appropriate and the possible implications of these results. Your genes will then be tested by an accredited laboratory that specialises in hereditary cancer tests. Dr Kulkarni will discuss the implications of your results for you and your family.
Dr Kulkarni has over 20 years of clinical experience and focuses on cancer prevention through genetic testing and counselling. A personalised risk assessment paired with a compassionate consultation will help you make informed decisions about managing inherited cancer risks, or if you have already had genetic testing, can help you interpret your results and guide you on current and future health decisions.
